Leland Stanford Cool, Jr., 92 of Brooksville passed away January 5, 2018. He was born in Plymouth, Michigan on July 17, 1925.

He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War serving in the Air Force, U.S. Army, and Army Security Agency and the Office of Strategic Services. Leland was a certified high-speed radio operator and also served in the Michigan National Guard. He was proud to be a member of VFW Post 10209 of Spring Hill and the American Legion of Orlando.

Leland retired after 19 years with General Motors in Flint, Mi. In Florida, he was with Smith Specialty, later Parkway Food Service, in Sarasota for another 19 years. For the last 25 years, he made his home in Sylvan Grove Community Park of Brooksville and enjoyed his work there as the Maintenance Supervisor.

He was predeceased by his father, Leland, Sr. and mother Blanche; 3 brothers, Max Victor, Darryl Dewayne and baby Rex; 3 sisters, Dorothy Lee Jackson, Donna Jean Warner and baby Madelyn; and granddaughter Logan Elizabeth Cool-Kudlick. He was also predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Dolores Lillian Cool.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Patricia Mildred Cool of Brooksville; sister Susan Adell Harris of Lincoln, Michigan, daughter Michaele Andrea Cool of Tampa, son Leland Stanford Cool III and partner Hector Punto of Tampa, son Ronald Jeffery Cool and wife Mary of Deland, grandson Colin Jeffery Cool of Deland, and 2 great-grandsons, Liam Alexander Kudlick and Erik David Kudlick of Heathrow. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews across the country who he loved dearly.
